In short:

An online test has been developed by researchers to detect toxoplasmosis infections without the need for blood samples.

One third of the world's population is infected with the parasite, and while very few people develop severe health complications, there is some evidence that it can change behaviour.

What's next?

Researchers hope the study leads to a better understanding of how the parasite affects human behaviour.
