SA opposition promises to slash public transport fares to 50 cents, if elected next year

The SA opposition has promised to introduce 50 cent fares for all metropolitan public transport, if elected in March next year. 

The Liberal party says the policy will provide relief for families during a cost-of-living crisis, and reduce congestion on the roads.

Premier Peter Malinauskas says the Liberal party haven't considered the funding or announced adding extra trams and busses to accommodate extra commuters.
