Two Doubleview house fires cause headaches for firefighters

Emergency services have extinguished to two separate house fires in close proximity in Doubleview in Perth's north.
The fires were reported in the Huntriss Road area around the same time.
Loading...Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews managed to bring the fires under control in about 30 minutes, and they were both declared distinguished shortly before 5.50pm.
One of the fires ignited at a unit on Huntriss Road, near Birdwood Street, with the other a short distance away on Moorland Street near the intersection of Huntriss Road.
Authorities are working to establish the causes of the fires. (ABC News)
The cause of the fires is being investigated.
Partially collapsed roof
Aerial vision from the scene showed firefighters on the roof trying to contain the blaze and protect neighbouring properties, while the roof of another house appeared to be partially collapsed.
An e-scooter outside one of the houses appeared to have been incinerated.
The full extent of the damage is not yet known.

A structure fire advice was issued, and authorities say smoke is being blown in a north easterly direction.
As a precautionary measure, residents in the area were asked to stay inside, out of the smoke or fumes, but authorities have since said there is no longer a direct threat to the community from the smoke.
