In short:

Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has pushed back against a suggestion he misled Congress when he told a 2024 hearing that the company did not give its teams the goal of maximising time spent on its apps.

Mr Zuckerberg says that while Meta previously had goals related to the amount of time users spent on the app, it has since changed its approach.
