In short:

The Sydney Swans have apologised for changing a speech to remove references to the Jewish community during their opening round match.

Senator James Paterson has aired claims the AFL was behind the change, referring the league to the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion.

Swans chief executive Matthew Pavlich said the club took responsibility for the changes and they were not directed by the AFL to alter the script.
